Aircraft
ground handling is one of the most important operation in order to run the
aviation industry smoothly. Its operation
mainly in moving an aircraft from one point to another in safe condition
without damaging the aircraft, less time and most important efficient.
The
product that we produce technically improvise the current R22 Helicopter
carrier which heavy and at the same time provide proper equipment for R22 mobility
in ground. Besides, this product is featuring with new method of handling and
with original ideas based on discussions and various sources. This carrier is
invented by our team to take care and prolong the life span of the institute’s
property which is the R22 light helicopter. This product allow a better towing
process with full of safety to the aircraft and person who handling the task;
towing.
RESEARCH OF MATERIAL
1.
The development achieved in
aviation industry mainly in ground handling operation has improved the method of ground handling operation
towards more efficient.
2.
Knowledge and understanding
on aircraft ground handling, aircraft limitation and safety procedure needed by
ground handling personnel in order to
keep the aircraft move in safe condition without damaging its structure. This
is because it will influence the aircraft performance during its operation. Therefore, there are various type of ground handling equipment used in
aviation industries nowdays.
3.
Type of ground handling equipment
is important due to avoid damage to the aircraft as well as type of ground
handling material used itself.
4.
Most of the type of metal
used in producing ground handling equipment are normally used mild steel which
is low carbon steel (<0.3 % carbon content). This is because mild steel
possess high ductility, high toughnes, moderately priced and also machinable.
5.
Mild steel are not just
weldable, but also good formability. Mild steel also rated at 55 – 60 %
machinability.
6.
Normally mild steel thickness
used in ground handling equipment material is between 3mm – 38.1mm.
7.
Mild steel has a relatively
low tensile strength, but it is cheap and malleable. It surface hardness can be
increased through carburizing.
8. Mild
steel contain less carbon than other steels and are easier to cold-form, making
them easier to handle.
